Skill at Arms Training and Horse Hire

Ditchling Common Stud near Brighton in West Sussex is a leading horse riding and training establishment in the UK which specialises in the sport of skill-at-arms.  DCS has been supplying and training riders and horses for England 's Medieval Festival for a great many years.

During the winter months, on Sundays, mounted skill-at-arms training sessions have been and still are being held at Ditchling Common Stud (DCS) Riding School to prepare people and horses (either owned by the stud or privately owned) for the coming season. These training sessions are and can be attended by both novice and experienced riders and horses. The purpose of the training is to work on both riding and mounted skill at arms (SAA) weapon handling skills.

Provisional dates for events at DCS this year are as follows:-

25-26 April 09- SAA training

27-28 June 09 - SAA competition

1,2,3 July 09 - Summer Adult Camp (which will encompass skill-at-arms, dressage, cross country, show jumping, grid work, etc.)

28-30 September 09 - Autumn Adult Camp

3-4 October 09 - SAA Competition
