Participant's SectionThis section is for those who come to England's Medieval Festival to work and play.There is no relevant information within this section for visitors attending for a day out. There is however, information in the 'Visitors' section which will be of interest to participants, such as 'Travel' and 'Accommodation'. It is our very great pleasure to invite you to Herstmonceux Castle - where 'History Has Never Been Such Fun!'. England's Medieval Festival is held annually on August Bank Holiday weekend and from humble beginnings has grown to become Britain's largest annual three day celebration of the colourful middle ages; each year attracting over two thousand medieval re-enactors, performers, musicians, artisans and craft workers from throughout the United Kingdom and Europe and more than thirty thousand visitors from around the world. Featuring daily: New: See videos of previous festivals in our video section. Contestable mounted Skill-at-Arms Tournaments with trophies and prizes. A frontal Siege of Herstmonceux Castle and a concluding Battle in the rear battlefield with cannons, siege engines and cavalry and over 500 combatants. Living History Competition with trophies and up to £2000 in cash prizes. Archery Tournament - longbow & crossbow with trophies and prizes. Europe's largest Medieval Traders Village. Village Stage - . Musicians, Singers, Jugglers and General Exhibitionists - welcome all! 15th century moated Castle - 500 acre estate. Beer & Food Marquee with entertainment. Living History camping areas in spectacular grounds. Plastic camp site with showers and facilities. Hundreds of participants. Thousands of spectators. No charge to participate.
